The Copenhagen Light Festival is an annual light festival that transforms the quiet and cold winter darkness into a unique celebration of light art, lighting design, and illumination in the center of Copenhagen. The assignment was to design a visual identity for next year’s event, that captures the essence and atmosphere of the event. The overlapping of preexisting and original typefaces symbolizes the old and new installations taking part in next year’s event. Furthermore, the way the colors change when they overlap symbolizes the excitement of color that occurs when they reflect in the night sky.
